Excitement is building for the 2025 Stata Conference, where researchers, analysts, and data scientists from around the world will come together to share ideas, showcase their work, and explore the frontiers of statistical analysis using Stata.

Set to take place in Nashville, TN, on 31 July–1 August, this year’s conference will once again highlight the creativity and rigor that define the Stata user community. From clever programming tips to pioneering research, the event promises a wide range of presentations that reflect the diversity of disciplines and applications where Stata is making an impact.

What to expect

Attendees can look forward to two days of engaging talks that cover both familiar and emerging topics—everything from panel-data modeling and time-series analysis to machine learning, reproducible workflows, and Bayesian methods. The program always offers a mix of technical depth and practical insight, making it one of the most dynamic gatherings in the field.

A preconference workshop on 30 July will offer an additional opportunity for attendees to dive into causal inference and treatment effects using Stata, guided by Enrique Pinzón, Director of Econometrics, who is an active part of the statistical development team.

A global community of users

One of the most exciting aspects of the Stata Conference is the global community it brings together. Participants come from universities, public institutions, private industry, and nonprofits—each bringing their own perspective on how Stata helps solve real-world problems. It’s a space where you can find econometricians mingling with epidemiologists and where conversations spark new ideas and collaborations.

Innovation on display

The 2025 conference will also be a chance to see how the Stata software continues to evolve. With new features designed to support the latest statistical methods, streamline workflows, and enhance reproducibility, Stata remains the top choice for data professionals. Presenters often showcase how they’re using these new features and community-contributed commands in real projects, offering practical examples that inspire and inform.

An open panel discussion offers the chance for attendees to ask questions and share feedback directly with Stata staff and developers. We often receive requests for changes or additions to Stata, and we take this feedback from the user community seriously. In fact, we often implement requests in future updates to the software.

A shared passion for data

More than anything, the Stata Conference is a celebration of the shared passion for data and discovery. It’s a place where challenging questions are met with careful analysis and where a vibrant community encourages critical thinking, transparency, and continuous learning.

This year, we celebrate 40 years of Stata—a milestone in trusted, reproducible statistical software. Stata has always been built by and for people who care about asking better questions and sharing results with confidence.

With the 2025 Stata Conference just ahead, there’s a lot to look forward to—and plenty to talk about once it begins.
